This unique opportunity invites you to lead a small team of lawyers and contribute to the legal capabilities of our International Hub from inception.

As a trusted strategic partner, you will advise various teams, including the AI Office, Data, Analytics and Platforms, Launch Excellence, and others. By navigating complex legal and regulatory developments, you will support compliant and sustainable growth while enhancing the reputation of Novartis.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal leadership and serve as a trusted business partner to CLS Operations, AI Office, Launch Excellence, and more.
  • Manage the legal and regulatory risk landscape across international markets to support sound decision-making and protect the company's reputation.
  • Deliver forward-looking, solution-oriented legal counsel to enable compliant innovation and responsible data use across the pharmaceutical value chain.
  • Collaborate with Ethics, Risk, and Compliance teams to manage compliance risks, ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Drive legal support for launch excellence, market activation, and new business models.
  • Lead initiatives to simplify legal and business processes, including content creation and country interface models.
  • Support post-close integration of asset acquisitions and provide advice on contractual matters.
  • Enhance legal capabilities through training and collaboration across global, regional, and country legal teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Law degree and admission to the bar.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or a top-tier law firm.
  • Broad knowledge of legal issues within the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory, commercial, and transactional matters.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic solutions in complex situations.
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality work in dynamic and international environments.

Benefits & Rewards

The expected annual base salary for this role is CHF 146,300 - CHF 271,700, determined based on gender-neutral criteria such as skills and experience. This role also offers a variety of competitive benefits, including insurance plans, retirement plans, well-being resources, and global recognition programs, along with flexible working options and a minimum of 14 weeks paid parental leave.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Long-term equity awards may also be included in your compensation package. Further details will be provided during the application process.
