Job Overview

The Head of Key Account Management & Wholesale is a strategically critical role within Sandoz Switzerland. As a member of the BU Retail Leadership Team, this position drives sustainable growth, fosters strategic customer partnerships, and champions enterprise-wide value creation across key accounts, pharmacy chains, physicians, and wholesale channels. The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping the future of Sandoz Retail in Switzerland through a combination of strong commercial strategy, disciplined financial leadership, customer impact, and execution excellence within a complex matrix organization.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define and execute the long-term growth strategy for Key Account Management & Wholesale, ensuring sustainable competitive advantage and market leadership in Switzerland.
    • Shape clear strategic priorities across pharmacy, physician, institutional, and wholesale channels aligned with BU Retail strategy and enterprise objectives.
    • Design and implement strategies that promote profitable long-term business development across all commercial retail channels and wholesale.
    • Monitor market dynamics, regulatory developments, competitive movements, and partnership opportunities to translate them into actionable business plans.
    • Strengthen strategic relationships with key customers and institutional accounts.
  • Commercial & Financial Excellence
    • Hold comprehensive P&L accountability for key accounts.
    • Deliver and grow topline sales across primary care and wholesale channels.
    • Manage and allocate a substantial commercial CVP budget responsibly.
    • Drive the balance between growth, profitability, and effective resource allocation.
    • Lead forecasting, scenario planning, and risk-adjusted decision making.
  • Customer & Market Leadership
    • Build and expand strategic partnerships with key pharmacy, wholesale, and healthcare organizations in Switzerland.
    • Advance Sandoz's position with institutional accounts through strong customer insight and value-based solutions.
    • Represent Sandoz in senior customer interactions with credibility and commercial judgment.
    • Anticipate customer needs and convert insights into actionable business opportunities.
  • Strategic Risk & Opportunity Management
    • Identify and implement mitigation plans for commercial, financial, and reputational risks.
    • Assess financial risks and evaluate growth opportunities, translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Leadership, Talent & Culture
    • Build and develop a high-performing, agile organization with strong accountability.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive culture that encourages creativity and learning.
    • Promote fairness, transparency, and diverse representation across teams.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Essential and Desirable Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant commercial leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in managing large, complex commercial businesses.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience with strategic partnerships.
  • Expertise in creating and executing strategic plans in a regulated healthcare environment.
  • Fluency in German, French, and English.
