Job Description

We are looking to hire a part-time/full-time English Assistant Preschool Teacher (only native English speakers) for our Pre-K group.

Your Responsibilities

As part of our Pre-K team, you will actively contribute to the children's educational experiences and support the Group Leader and pedagogical team in creating a safe, stimulating, and well-structured environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and accompanying children aged approximately 3-5 throughout their daily routines.
  • Communicating with children consistently in English, fostering their English-language development through natural interactions.
  • Participating in and contributing to educational activities, projects, creative tasks, stories, songs, and learning experiences.
  • Encouraging children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  • Promoting independence, self-confidence, and age-appropriate responsibilities.
  • Assisting children during meals, hygiene routines, transitions, rest periods, and everyday situations.
  • Engaging in outdoor activities, walks, excursions, and movement activities.
  • Reading regularly with children and promoting early literacy.
  • Observing children’s individual needs, interests, and development, and sharing observations with the pedagogical team.
  • Helping maintain an organized, stimulating, and child-friendly group environment.
  • Collaborating closely with the Group Leader, Kita Management, and the broader educational team.
  • Upholding our pedagogical concepts, safeguarding standards, hygiene procedures, and internal policies.
  • Contributing proactively to team meetings, planning, and the continuous development of the group.

Essential Requirements

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are native English speakers.
  • Have a genuine passion for working with and educating children aged 3-5 years.
  • Exhibit reliability, responsibility, punctuality, and emotional maturity.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and personal initiative.
  • Can recognize and respond appropriately to children's individual needs.
  • Are comfortable collaborating actively within a group and taking on responsibility.
  • Are warm, caring, yet able to establish clear boundaries and structure for children.
  • Work well in a multicultural and bilingual environment.
  • Are open to feedback and interested in ongoing professional development.
  • Desire a long-term collaboration.
  • Can actively participate in a physically demanding day, including outdoor activities and excursions.

Previous experience in a Kita, preschool, nursery, kindergarten, or early-childhood setting is strongly preferred.

What We Offer

We provide a professional and international working environment in a well-established bilingual Kita located in central Zürich. You will become an integral part of a structured pedagogical team, contributing actively to the children’s educational program while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. We value reliability, professionalism, initiative, respectful communication, teamwork, and genuine engagement with children, and we are particularly interested in candidates looking to become a stable, long-term member of our team.
