Director of Product Marketing

Location: Zurich, In-office

The world is your brief. EF Language Abroad has three business units (Products) that people around the world have been experiencing for more than 65 years: Language Travel, Academic Year Abroad, and International Language Schools. We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing to help them grow.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity and analysis. It’s about discovering and attracting as many customers as possible; it’s not for someone who wishes to maintain the status quo. This position is best suited for an individual who sees a crowded market and thinks, “I know how to cut through this.” If you find genuine joy in turning complexity into clarity and are eager to drive growth, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the go-to-market strategy for our most exciting growth initiatives by understanding customer perspectives and translating market data into superior marketing content.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Head, Central Creative Studio, and Digital Marketing Team, leading all product marketing efforts while ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
  • Build strong partnerships with sales and product development teams to deeply understand our offerings and target audience.
  • Drive positioning and messaging by owning the global messaging framework across our entire portfolio.
  • Lead the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy for all product launches, expansions, and updates, while developing scalable GTM playbooks with local adaptability.
  • Champion customer and market intelligence by overseeing the voice of the customer, competitive insights, and soliciting feedback to influence the product roadmap.
  • Work in partnership with the Product Heads and Sales Management on Commercial Enablement by creating and maintaining sales tools and training materials.
  • Own audience segmentation, including persona frameworks, and craft actionable briefs for channel teams.
  • Assist in pricing communication, turning pricing decisions into compelling, market-ready narratives.
  • Establish a culture of accountability by defining departmental KPIs and setting clear marketing goals.
  • Ensure EF stays ahead of the competition by continuously monitoring industry trends and evolving strategies to meet market demands.

You’ll Be Successful in This Role If You Have:

  • 8–12 years of experience in product marketing, brand, or GTM, preferably in education, travel, or subscription-based businesses.
  • Strong international experience with high emotional intelligence, able to navigate cultural nuances while balancing local relevance with global scalability.
  • Exceptional collaboration and networking skills, along with strong presentation, communication, and storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to write and present strategic briefs that resonate with creative, media, and market teams.
  • Experience in designing and managing GTM plans on a global scale, including collaboration with central brand and media planning teams.
  • Expertise in customer research and competitive intelligence leadership.
  • Channel literacy across paid, organic, SEO, social, and CRM; able to effectively brief teams without needing to oversee execution.
  • A deep understanding of emerging communication, media consumption, marketing, and cultural trends.
  • A natural ability to translate big ideas into tactical execution, converting strategy into effective work.
  • Unmatched curiosity about human behavior and communication.
  • Comfort working in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • A discerning eye for outstanding creative work and a clear understanding of what sets it apart.
  • A communication style that simplifies complexity and inspires action.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias toward decisive action.

  • Discounts on EF programs for staff and their friends and family.
