Your Crew
You will be an integral part of our five-person Innovation team located in our brand-new Zurich office. Your role is crucial in driving innovation and developing design solutions for Launcher Subsystems in R&D projects while exploring advanced technologies and generating value for our customers. This diverse team consists of highly skilled engineers from various backgrounds and nationalities, uniting under the shared commitment to Beyond Gravity's core values: Curious, Passionate, and Together.
Your Mission
- Develop conceptual and detailed design solutions for launcher subsystems, mechanisms, test setups, and prototypes in internal and customer-oriented R&D projects.
- Conduct both simple and complex design tasks using our standard CAD system.
- Write and review technical documentation, project-related deliverables, and other specifications.
- Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering functions and departments, such as operations, quality, and procurement.
- Support continuous improvements and propose market-oriented initiatives to enhance existing products, technologies, and production processes, considering design to cost (DtC) and design for manufacturing (DfM).
- Represent your engineering field during meetings and reviews with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Your Story
- University bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a design engineer or in a similar role within a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive CAD software experience, preferably with Catia V5 and V6, ERP (e.g., SAP), and PLM (e.g., Enovia or Teamcenter).
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an asset.
- Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of the space industry and market.
- Hands-on and DIY aptitude to support prototyping.
- Experience with large composite structures and composite design.
- Experience in CAE analyses.
- Experience in product industrialization.
