EI&I Construction Lead (German-speaking)

Our client, a global leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients across the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is seeking a German-speaking EI&I Construction Lead for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension, based in the Valais area of Switzerland. This is a full-time on-site role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate on-site EI&I construction activities for CAPEX projects.
  • Manage electrical, instrumentation, and automation contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, GMP, quality, and project requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress, costs, schedules, and installation quality.
  • Verify execution against engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Coordinate construction interfaces between engineering, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Support inspections, punch-list resolution, and turnover documentation.
  • Assist in commissioning preparation, loop checks, functional testing, SAT, and system handover activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical and construction issues to maintain project timelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship required.
  • Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading EI&I construction activities in pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or industrial CAPEX projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation installation practices.
  • Experience working in GMP-regulated environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and construction documentation.
  • Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Focus on safety, quality, and project execution.
  • Fluent German required; proficiency in English is an advantage.
