Construction Manager (German-speaking)

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients within both the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is seeking a German-speaking Construction Manager for a 12-month contract (with the possibility of extension) based in the Valais area of Switzerland.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage the construction site and bear operational responsibility during the construction and installation phases.
• Overall responsibility for coordinating all EHS issues on the construction site, requesting work method statements (SiMoKo’s) from various contractors, and checking them in collaboration with the EHS specialist.
• Responsible for implementing the EHS Management System on construction sites and ensuring its effectiveness through regular site visits.
• Support the procurement process, ensuring that construction site safety aspects are incorporated in the work performed.
• Ensure compliance with plan specifications while monitoring construction costs, schedule, and quality.
• Organize building inspections at the end of construction projects and oversee the correction of defects.
• Design and execute smaller investment or maintenance projects as a CSA subject matter expert. Prepare tender documents and conduct submissions and contract awards together with procurement.
• Engage hands-on in the creation and development of CSA standard documents, ensuring that standards and requirements are correctly incorporated.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship is required.
• Highly driven to solve problems and achieve aligned goals.
• Flexibility, assertiveness, and a strong ability to work in a team.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in working with matrix-based cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated and adept at working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficient in common software tools, such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Office.
• German C1 (required), English B1 (preferred).
