Role Overview

We are seeking to strengthen our team in Baden, Switzerland with your expertise and experience as a Combustor Operation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, integration, and validation of new combustor concepts aimed at achieving lower emissions and increased performance. You will also focus on the operation with future fuels, such as hydrogen, and provide fleet support for combustor operation optimization to our customers.

Your Tasks

  • Integrate new combustor technologies and hardware into the engine operational envelope
  • Specify emission guarantees
  • Execute 1D combustor air distribution calculations
  • Develop combustor operation concepts and commissioning specifications
  • Support tendering and execution team requests
  • Evaluate technical risks
  • Maintain interfaces with other Gas Turbines engineering teams
  • Address Integrated Plant Support items
  • Support after-sale service upgrade package development and validation for GT26, GT36, AE64, and AE94 fleet commissioning
  • Assist in the validation of new combustor technologies and hardware

Your Profile

  • You hold a university degree in mechanical engineering or a related field involving fluid dynamics, applied mathematics, or combustion
  • A background in 1D flow network calculations is required
  • Knowledge of chemistry or cooling and heat transfer is appreciated
  • Programming skills (Python, VBA) and experience in test data post-processing are advantageous
  • You possess a critical mindset, problem-solving attitude, and strong analytical thinking
  • Taking on responsibility while working independently and systematically is essential for your success
  • You are available to travel up to 10% of the time globally
  • You have an excellent command of the English language, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude towards teamwork
