About AQC

AQC is a Swiss-based, international association founded in June 2014 to promote quality and safety in leather bracelet manufacturing. AQC was established to offer additional services to all stakeholders in the watch and leather industries. Its vision is to ensure that every leather bracelet meets the highest safety standards while proactively fostering a responsible global supply chain.

Role Overview

As a member of a small and dedicated team, you will work under the direct supervision of the Board and the President. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing the chemical compliance strategy according to the strictest international regulations.
  • Overseeing internal and external audits and certifications, ensuring they are proactively updated to meet the needs of the leather and watch industries, as well as international regulatory requirements.
  • Acting as an ambassador for AQC and upholding its values.

Mission 1: Chemical Testing

  • Define and update the testing policy and control plans for all components (leather, textile, interior, glue, threads, etc.) of the leather bracelet.
  • Manage and promote regulatory compliance services for other products.
  • Scientifically manage AQC risk reduction programs.
  • Establish and monitor the chemical testing budget.
  • Manage non-conformities, including investigations and associated action plans.
  • Conduct regulatory reviews of compliance documentation required from members.

Mission 2: AQC Audits and Certifications

  • Define and update requirements and audit frameworks for quality certifications (ISO9001, AQC Labels, AQC bracelet manufacturers certification).
  • Organize and execute laboratory visits.

Mission 3: Process Ownership

  • Develop processes related to chemical compliance and certifications.
  • Manage and monitor the efficiency of these processes.
  • Oversee performance metrics, particularly through key performance indicators.
  • Report to Management on various initiatives.
  • Manage improvement actions or projects (audit reports, documentation, technical items, etc.).
  • Handle non-conformities effectively.
  • Manage and update quality documentation.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in chemical compliance within the leather or textile industry.
  • Advanced degree in chemistry.
  • Excellent command of English and French.
  • Strong team management and project management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory aspects.

Work Location

This position is based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Home office options are available.
