Rohan Büchner - Engineering Manager Backend

Two of our online marketplaces, tutti.ch and anibis.ch, are looking for a Backend Engineer with Go skills to join their team.

How are we working in the Backend Team?

We operate in stream-aligned product teams utilizing the SCRUM methodology. Each team comprises 2–3 Backend Engineers, a Product Owner, an Engineering Manager, Designers, and both Mobile and Web Engineers.

Our teams collaborate closely with Platform (infrastructure) and Data (BI) teams. Each product team owns a specific domain, where Engineers are responsible for design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.

Our Go-based backend services run on AWS with Kubernetes, serving over 300k users with daily deployments. Code is reviewed and deployed directly from GitHub.

Our technology stack includes:

• PostgreSQL
• Elasticsearch
• Redis
• SendGrid (emails)
• Auth0 (authentication)

We maintain high test coverage using tools like Testify, including integration tests for databases, Redis, and Kafka.

Qualifications

What will you bring to the ride?

• Strong Go programming skills, with approximately 3 years of experience in Go.
• Proven experience with strongly typed languages in complex settings, including building and delivering web services.
• A track record of at least 3+ years making high-impact technical decisions and driving project outcomes.
• A positive attitude and passion for your craft matter more than just meeting every requirement.
• We value pragmatic, empathetic team members who strive to understand others before seeking to be understood.
