About the Role

As an Avaloq Technical Developer, you will act as a component owner, taking end-to-end technical responsibility for configuring, enhancing, and maintaining core Avaloq trading modules (STEX/Stacks) across strategic international projects.

Work Tasks

  • Module Parametrization: Configure and parameterize core Avaloq trading functionality, focusing on STEX workflows, transaction processing, pooling, and partial billing.
  • Project Delivery: Implement key technical configurations for large-scale international projects, including multi-entity bank rollouts and new derivative/structured product integrations.
  • System Enhancements: Develop targeted platform modifications and technical enhancements using Avaloq Report Writer and related configuration tools.
  • Technical Maintenance: Conduct root-cause analysis, bug fixes, ad-hoc query execution, and Oracle/PL-SQL database error handling.
  • Quality Assurance: Define, execute, and evaluate technical test cases to maintain high platform quality and stability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage directly with internal business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust, hands-on technical solutions.

Must-Haves

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a strictly technical STEM discipline.
  • Core Technical Experience: Approximately 3 years of recent, hands-on Avaloq parametrization experience—specifically focused on the Avaloq Stacks / STEX trading module as a core requirement.
  • Platform Certification: Certified Avaloq Professional.
  • Database & Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in relational databases (Oracle, PL/SQL), including code debugging, failure analysis, and error handling.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English (German is NOT required).
  • Personal & Working Style: High conscientiousness, analytical mindset, goal-orientation, trustworthiness, and a collaborative, change-oriented approach.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Reporting: Practical experience with Avaloq Report Writer (Screen Reports, File Reports).
  • Connectivity: General working knowledge or troubleshooting experience with SWIFT / FIX messaging interfaces.
  • Languages: German or other European languages (welcome bonus for informal interactions).
