Automation Engineer – Job No 7114
Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients in both the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team. This is a 12-month, fully onsite contract role located in the Valais area of Switzerland.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Emerson DeltaV automation solutions for CAPEX projects.
- Configure control strategies, system interfaces, graphics, alarms, and process automation applications within the DeltaV environment.
- Prepare and maintain GxP-compliant engineering and validation documentation according to company standards.
- Support integration of DeltaV systems with process equipment, PLCs, utility systems, MES, and other plant systems.
- Execute and document testing, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ).
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation, communication, and control system issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, change management, and validation requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Quality, and Project teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV system engineering and configuration.
- Experience developing and maintaining GxP documentation in regulated industries.
- Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, and validation processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within CAPEX project environments.
- German language proficiency is required; English proficiency is preferred.
