Your Mission
In this role, you will be responsible for building a high-performing procurement function that ensures a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials for the business. Through professional supplier management, strategic negotiations, and effective collaboration across functions, you will secure consistent material availability, drive continuous cost improvements, and contribute to the company’s sustainable long-term growth.
Your Profile
Key Responsibilities
- Manage item and warehouse master data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with ERP standards.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and commercial terms, while monitoring supplier performance to secure cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Optimize inventory levels by balancing production requirements, lead times, and cost efficiency, while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain processes, including Lean practices, ERP enhancements, and workflow standardization.
- Ensure incoming quality control (IQC) activities are executed by category supply managers, collaborating with subject matter experts and Quality to strengthen inspection standards and resolve non-conformities.
- Manage low-tech deviations and supplier issues by identifying discrepancies, coordinating with suppliers on corrective actions, and ensuring timely resolution to prevent disruptions.
- Support production teams in work preparation, ensuring timely material availability and seamless coordination between procurement and operations.
Skills & Experience
- Technical background in electronics, mechanics, or optics, ideally complemented by further education as an Einkaufsfachmann/-frau BP or a comparable qualification.
- Over 5 years of working experience in a related function or field.
- Strong negotiation skills with basic financial and accounting knowledge.
- Understanding of quality topics, including inspections, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Proficiency in ERP and data management, ideally with Odoo.
- Excellent supplier relationship management skills.
- Basic contract knowledge, including terms, risks, and compliance.
Languages
- Proficient English required.
- Fluent German required.
Terms of Employment
- Workload: 80-100%; maximum 20% travel (visiting suppliers).
- Working arrangements: On-site.
- Location: Headquarters in Stettbach near Zurich, Switzerland.
- Preferred start date: ASAP.
