Job Opportunity: Senior Motor & Liability Treaty Underwriter DACH & CEE Markets 80%-100% (m/f/d)
For our client, a prominent reinsurance company located in Zurich, we are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join their Motor & Liability team. Our business is centered around both traditional and customized reinsurance solutions, with a strong focus on operational excellence.
Our team, consisting of experienced underwriters and pricing actuaries, operates under a successful model where underwriters assume full client responsibility. We are organized around two main pillars: Property and Casualty, and we are committed to achieving our ambitious goals in the Casualty sector.

Your Responsibilities
- Propose strategies and define target clients and programs for the designated area.
- Manage and grow a profitable underwriting portfolio in alignment with our risk appetite and strategic objectives.
- Establish and autonomously manage client and broker relationships at the senior level, acting as a key account manager.
- Analyze risks and exposures for underwriting, pricing, and accumulation control.
- Ensure market coordination with various underwriting units.
- Engage actively with key internal stakeholders outside of the Casualty department.
- Contribute to reporting and annual planning processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of underwriting expertise.
Your Profile
- Qualification: A university degree or equivalent education within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a (re)insurance underwriter in casualty. Strong knowledge of Motor (re)insurance and/or various Liability classes (such as General Liability, Public/Product Liability, or Professional Liability). Familiarity with the DACH and/or Central and Eastern European markets is a significant advantage.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills with confidence and a personable approach. Strong negotiation abilities. A proactive mindset with a high level of business acumen, capable of meeting client expectations and requirements. A proven team player willing to explore new ideas and approaches.
- Language: Proficient in English and German, with any additional European language being a valuable asset.
