MSF Operational Center Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of five operational centers supported by 24 sections and offices worldwide.
Role Overview
As a Philanthropy Advisor, you will secure and grow income from individual major donors in German-speaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Your responsibilities will include:
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of major donors and ensuring a high-quality experience to enhance their engagement.
- Qualifying Major Donor prospects in collaboration with the Prospect Researcher.
- Facilitating meetings, calls, and presentations with donors and their representatives.
- Establishing relationships with new potential donors, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals, to secure future support for MSF’s work.
- Collaborating with key spokespersons within MSF to deepen donor relationships with our mission.
- Preparing for and organizing visits to MSF offices and projects.
- Ensuring compliance with MSF’s gifts acceptance policy.
- Maintaining database accuracy and communication with Writing Officers for preparing materials for major donors.
- Representing MSF’s funding needs to individual major donors in German-speaking regions.
- Working closely with the System Support Team to optimize the use of our Customer Relationship Management Database.
Your Profile
Education
- University degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Political Science, Law, International Relations, or equivalent.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in similar roles, with experience in public relations, wealth management, sales, or humanitarian project work.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of humanitarian aid is advantageous.
Languages
- (Swiss) German (native or equivalent).
- English.
- French and Italian are a plus.

Terms of Employment
- Full-time position (40 hours/week).
- Open-ended contract.
- Location: Zürich.
- Gross annual salary: CHF 87,372 to CHF 100,608 (depending on experience).
- Paid vacation: 25 days per year plus Swiss public holidays.
- Pension plan with contributions shared between MSF and the staff member.
- Relocation support available for eligible candidates.
