How You Can Make an Impact

As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will assist senior executives at our client organizations in making informed architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.

Your Impact Areas Include:

• Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes spanning multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) that require integration. Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards, and plan the modernization journey.
• Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that meet their business needs. Your tasks will include data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and utilizing AI for efficient operation. Make key design decisions and lead onshore and near-/offshore engineering teams in solution development.
• Architect Integrated Solutions: Design and build integrations required for business processes and data product delivery. This includes integration between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM or CRM systems and Cloud data platforms.
• Strengthen Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
• Develop Internal Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and establish a strategic focus for expertise building in Switzerland and with near- and offshore teams.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect, leading teams that designed and implemented complex cloud-based ecosystems.
• Engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Experience in evaluating and making data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and convincing business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience in guiding data engineers on coding best practices, familiar with industrial quality tools such as SonarQube and AI coding assistants integrated into IDE.
• Experience across a range of database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
• Nice to have: Experience packaging data platform solutions using Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.

• Strong team leadership skills to partner with others, estimate and plan work, and coach team members to achieve optimal client outcomes.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient in modeling methods with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Ability to design end-to-end architectures balancing performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Experience in data integration and ETL processes, designing integration layers from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools like Informatica or DBT is a plus.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
