Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities within various assignments. Each day, you will ensure that engineering disciplines related to the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will showcase your expertise by providing technical support for commissioning and start-up activities.

The work model for this position is hybrid, contributing to the Mining & Materials Plant Automation sector within Process Industries in Switzerland.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Act as design authority for engineering deliverables and technical solutions addressing internal organizations, customers, and authorities.
• Collaborate closely with customers to shape and deliver effective solutions, actively seeking feedback to drive continuous improvements.
• Assist project managers in managing scope control, risk, and opportunity assessments while implementing enhancements and mitigation strategies.
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects of high to medium complexity.
• Participate in project installation, commissioning, and site activities to identify potential issues and provide solutions to rectify engineering errors.
• Provide technical details, cost calculations, and deliverables definition for sales proposals.

Qualifications for the Role

• Extensive experience in large-scale process automation DCS, such as ABB 800xA or comparable technologies, with 8-10 years in engineering and commissioning in large-scale process automation projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in a lead engineer role managing teams of 5-10 engineers, encompassing both software and electrical engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of IEC 61850, TCP/IP networks, fieldbus protocols like Profibus/Net, Modbus TCP/RTU, and OPC, along with a solid understanding of cybersecurity practices in compliance with the IEC 62443 standard framework.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cooperation, negotiation, and reaching agreements with customers and suppliers, complemented by a solution-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential.
• Experience with power and energy management systems, their related software and hardware design, and relevant engineering practices, codes, and standards.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, industrial automation, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in English communication.
