Exciting Opportunity: Sr. Director of Marketing, Burger King, EMEA

Burger King is seeking a strategic and creative leader for a senior role that will integrate Brand Marketing, Communications, Media, and Innovation. The Sr. Director of Marketing for Burger King in the EMEA region will be instrumental in enhancing Burger King's brand expression across the area.

This leader will collaborate closely with franchisee CMOs across EMEA, international brand teams, and other stakeholders to cultivate a coherent, modern, and culturally relevant brand strategy. There will be a focus on delivering great tasting food, engaging social-first storytelling, and comprehensive communication planning.

As part of this role, you will lead a cross-functional team that spans Innovation, Communications, Partnerships, Social, and Media, ensuring these functions work cohesively to accelerate brand growth throughout the EMEA region.

Your Responsibilities:

  • EMEA Brand Strategy & Accelerated Brand Agenda:
    • Shape and champion a forward-looking EMEA brand strategy that provides clarity and consistency.
    • Translate global brand positioning into inspiring frameworks for local markets.
    • Collaborate with franchisee CMOs to refine priorities and provide necessary resources for impactful work.
    • Serve as a senior brand advisor to markets, enhancing their communication and innovation strategies.
  • Creative Excellence & Communications Leadership:
    • Set high standards for breakthrough creative work across EMEA.
    • Lead the creation of campaign playbooks and toolkits that ensure consistency while encouraging local expression.
    • Guide markets through the creative brief development and agency partnership processes.
    • Ensure all communications align with brand voice and inspire cultural influence.
  • Innovation Strategy & Product Pipeline:
    • Oversee the regional innovation agenda, aligning it with brand strategy and communications.
    • Develop a robust pipeline of innovation that addresses trends and consumer preferences.
    • Connect innovation workstreams with key markets for effective rollout.
  • Media Strategy & Ecosystem Leadership:
    • Lead the regional media strategy, ensuring effective channel presence and message alignment.
    • Collaborate with markets on media planning and best practices.
    • Build relationships with media platforms and agencies to unlock new opportunities.
  • Social, Youth Culture & Cultural Relevance:
    • Develop a region-wide social strategy that resonates with young adults and strengthens brand relevance.
    • Lead the creation of influencer and partnership strategies based on youth culture insights.
    • Encourage rapid, platform-native storytelling and creative experimentation.
  • Partnerships, Collaborations & Licensing:
    • Identify and nurture strategic partnerships that enhance brand relevance.
    • Support regional execution of global licensing initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Enablement:
    • Act as a senior marketing partner to country CMOs to ensure alignment.
    • Work closely with global brand teams to represent EMEA interests in global initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development:
    • Mentor a diverse team across various functions.
    • Foster a culture of creativity and data-driven decision-making.
    • Focus on developing talent capabilities across the region.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • 10-15 years in brand marketing, communications, media strategy, and innovation.
  • Experience in the FMCG/CPG or restaurant industries is required; QSR or culturally influential brand experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-market/regional roles, particularly in EMEA.
  • Proven track record of developing bold and effective integrated campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and social platforms and youth culture behaviors.
  • Ability to lead agencies and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong skills in strategy building and simplifying complex issues for execution.
  • A passion for trends, creativity, media, and great tasting food.
  • Fluent in English.
