Job Opportunity: Senior BI Developer / Data Engineer

RED Global is seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer / Data Engineer for a long-term contract supporting the development and modernization of a Microsoft-based data and analytics platform. This is a hands-on role encompassing SQL development, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and integrations, alongside BI and reporting.

Contract Details

• Type: B2B freelance
• Duration: ASAP to 31 October 2027, with potential extensions
• Language: Fluent Swedish required

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data warehouses, pipelines, and analytical solutions.
• Build and optimize SQL procedures, business logic, and data models.
• Integrate internal and external systems through APIs, files, and messaging.
• Troubleshoot data flows and enhance database performance and data quality.
• Contribute to the evolution of the data platform, including technical decisions, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders.

Required Experience

• At least seven years in software development, data engineering, or a comparable technical role.
• At least five years of SQL database development, including stored procedures and performance optimization.
• Proven delivery of data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions across at least two assignments.
• Strong analytical data modeling skills.
• Experience with Python, C#, .NET, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, or similar version-control and development tools.
• Experience independently delivering solutions within agile teams.
• Very good spoken and written Swedish.

Desirable Skills

• SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI.
• Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or dbt.
• Dimensional modeling, Kimball, or Data Vault.
• Experience with cloud data platform migration, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience in energy, utilities, or another regulated industry.
