Job opportunity
You will install, operate, and maintain state-of-the-art control and measurement setups for quantum information processing using superconducting circuits, including dilution refrigerators and microwave frequency instrumentation. Additionally, you will enhance our nanofabrication process for high-coherence superconducting qubits in the PSI PICO cleanroom.
While this is a technical position, participation in the host group's projects—such as fabricating test samples and conducting qubit characterization experiments—will be strongly encouraged. You will also have the opportunity to co-supervise Master's and semester students, providing a chance to engage with a vibrant community of quantum researchers and technical experts.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD degree in physics or a relevant engineering field. Prior experience with dilution refrigerators and nanofabrication is essential, along with strong communication skills in English. The position demands a methodical approach to complex problems involving multiple control parameters and would greatly benefit from a keen interest in the latest advancements in nanofabrication of high-coherence superconducting circuit devices, as well as control and measurement instrumentation. Proficiency in Python programming and a background in superconducting circuit experiments are considered advantageous.
