About the Role
Techfirm Industrie AG is seeking a motivated Project Engineer with 2-3 years of experience in GMP environments, particularly within biotech or biopharmaceutical production plants. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects from initiation through completion, working on both small and mid-sized capital projects, optimizing existing production plants, and supporting expansions with new equipment integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead small capital projects (CHF 10,000 to 200,000), including optimizations involving valves, filters, equipment, and tubing upgrades within GMP production environments.
- Manage mid-sized CAPEX projects (CHF 200,000 to 2 million), such as the installation and commissioning of homogenizers, separation machines, vessels, tanks, HVAC systems, and clean rooms.
- Coordinate all project phases, including URS preparation, cost estimation, planning and budgeting, obtaining approvals, detailed engineering, and resource organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Take full responsibility for projects from start to finish while adhering to GMP and biotech production standards.
- Work in a bilingual environment where documentation is partly in German (older plant) and partly in English (new plant).
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer within GMP-regulated biotech or pharmaceutical production facilities.
- Proven experience managing small to mid-sized capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of process equipment such as valves, filters, homogenizers, separation machines, tanks, and HVAC relevant to biopharma production.
- Ability to manage project initiation, planning, execution, and closeout within a cross-departmental setting.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and German, with the capability to interpret technical documentation in both languages.
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
