JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Power Electronics Solutions Engineer, you will support our clients in addressing cutting-edge research objectives using Imperix equipment. Your role will involve assisting clients in selecting the products that best fit their needs while considering technical and budgetary constraints. Your recommendations will play a key role in expediting their path to success and ensuring the full functionality of their prototypes.

At Imperix, our approach differs from traditional sales models; there is no cold calling or outbound prospecting. Your focus will be on handling inquiries as they arise, providing technical guidance to fellow engineers. When interacting with customers, your primary mission will be to listen attentively, ask insightful questions, and provide transparent information.

As a member of our sales team, you will manage opportunities from requirements gathering to drafting technical proposals, supervising system assembly, leading factory testing, managing delivery, and assisting customers in the initial setup process. If custom control software is required, you may also have the opportunity to develop and test it.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES

• Host web meetings and address email inquiries from potential customers worldwide.
• Pose targeted technical questions about converter topologies, power ratings, control strategies, and performance requirements to identify key challenges.
• Develop tailored recommendations, determining necessary sensors for control, optimal control hierarchization approaches, or the ideal power module type.
• For specific cases, dimension or pre-design auxiliary equipment and coordinate procurement for items like medium-frequency transformers and energy storage systems.
• Design comprehensive solutions using Imperix controllers, power modules, and software. Plan cabinet layouts and integration processes. Prepare detailed technical and financial proposals.
• Collaborate closely with internal R&D teams to address complex technical requests and execute advanced customization projects.
• Dedicate time to customer-specific engineering projects, prepare application notes, or contribute to core R&D activities.
• Undertake occasional customer visits, on-site commissioning, or participate in trade shows.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 0–5 years of relevant experience; more senior profiles are also welcome.
• Technical Skills: Broad and diverse knowledge of power converter topologies, control techniques, and prototyping requirements.
• Communication Skills: An interest in customer-facing roles, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
