Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care to a private individual. The role focuses on addressing all aspects of the client's needs in a positive, person-centered manner. Currently, these needs include a diagnosis of dementia, age-related frailties, and any other health co-morbidities that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement comprehensive care programs while providing guidance and maintaining relevant records, either manually or digitally.
- Carry out nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to support staff.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise team members to promote best practices in dementia care.
- Serve as a point of contact in the absence of the team leader to ensure the effective delivery of care to the client.
- Raise any concerns with the line manager.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or Swiss working permit holder).
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of Best Practice in Dementia Training or willingness to undertake this training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training, delivered in English.
- Additional qualifications in dementia-related topics, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme.
- Understanding of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to developing dementia knowledge as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Specialist dementia qualification or additional studies in related areas.
- Strong knowledge of non-pharmacological interventions and strategies for behavior as communication.
- Experience in End of Life Care and the ability to develop relevant clinical skills for co-morbidities and end-of-life care.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements
- Certification or experience as a Moving and Handling Trainer.
- Expertise in Beauty/Massage Therapy.
- Knowledge in providing Meaningful Activities.
Language / Essential
- Proficient in English, ideally as a first language.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including excellent written communication in English.
- Understanding of regional dialects, specifically Central Scotland, to facilitate effective communication with the client.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with dementia is required.

- Female gender preferred.
Specific Job Requirements
- Availability for a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended periods (preferably 10-14 days).
- Willingness to travel with the client within the UK.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including a sleepover arrangement, alternating nights with another staff member.
- Capability to accompany the client to and from various venues as part of the duties.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects the social standing of the client.
- Confidentiality must be upheld in accordance with NMC requirements and organizational standards—a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- Understanding the culture of the client and their family is crucial, particularly as dementia progresses.
- Housekeeping duties are also a key aspect of this position.
