W Talent is collaborating with a well-established engineering business located in Nottingham that is seeking to recruit an NDT Inspector to join its Test and Inspection team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 NDT Inspector or Technician with a robust technical background, ideally gained within the aerospace or heavy engineering sectors. The Role
As an NDT Inspector, you will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing and inspection activities to ensure products meet the required quality and customer standards. The role involves working across a 3-shift pattern, which includes both day and night shifts; therefore, flexibility regarding shift work is essential. The preferred method of testing is Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), but candidates with experience in other NDT methods will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct NDT inspections in accordance with relevant procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) as needed.
- Identify and report defects, non-conformances, and quality issues.
- Ensure all inspections and testing are completed accurately and in compliance with required standards.
- Maintain precise inspection records and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to support product quality and delivery.
- Keep a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance at all times.
- Assist with cross-training across other departments to adapt to changing workloads.
- Complete any required onsite examination and practical assessment as part of the approval process under Level 3 supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
- Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing accreditation - essential.
- Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience - preferred.
- Previous experience within an aerospace or heavy engineering environment - highly desirable.
- Experience in other NDT methods will also be considered.
- A strong understanding of quality and safety requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with colleagues across the business.
- A flexible attitude and a willingness to learn and cross-train in other areas when required.
- Willingness to complete onsite examinations and practical assessments for approval.
