Position Overview

We are actively seeking a Memory Systems Engineer to join our team in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Responsibilities and Authority

  • Architectural performance simulations using application traces or synthetic workloads to quantify the effects of various memory subsystems.
  • FPGA prototyping of memory subsystems in the lab for functional and performance validation, including the use of off-the-shelf FPGA boards.
  • Analysis of memory controller configurations and their impact on computer system performance.
  • Participate in SoC architecture design and analysis, with a focus on memory controllers.
  • Assist the engineering team in formulating and executing design verification and validation plans related to DRAM controllers and memory.

Required Competencies – Experience

  • Experience designing a DRAM controller and testing it using either FPGA or ASICs.
  • Experience in DRAM performance modeling and characterization within either an industrial or academic setting.
  • Ability to correlate key application performance to DRAM subsystem capabilities through trace gathering or directed testing techniques in the lab, focusing on applications such as databases, machine learning, or search.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux kernel, with a preference for prior development or testing experience.
  • Experience with architectural simulations of computer systems, emphasizing DRAM subsystems.

Required Competencies – Skills

  • Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • FPGA design and implementation of complex systems, including memory controllers.
  • C/C++ coding proficiency, particularly for Linux systems and architectural simulations.
  • Benchmarking of high-performance applications, including databases, machine learning/AI, search indexes, or streaming analytics.
  • Familiarity with DRAM internal device architecture and its impact on computer performance.
  • Understanding of computer systems architecture, including protocols such as CXL, PCIe, and AXI.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL for RTL design and/or verification.
