Job Opportunity: Head of Supported Living

We are seeking a dynamic leadership personality with proven experience in disability services, entrepreneurial thinking, and strong design skills to join our family at BSB (Bürgerspital Basel), one of the largest social enterprises in the Basel area, employing around 1,600 dedicated individuals.

The Supported Living department provides a range of living and support options for individuals requiring assistance, emphasizing self-determination, participation, and tailored support. Our services include various communal living arrangements, outpatient support, and increasingly flexible options to cater to diverse needs.

Your Role

As the Head of Supported Living, you will assume overall responsibility for a department with approximately 120 employees across six locations, directly leading a management team of eight. You will work with your team to ensure high-quality services while advancing the department's professional, organizational, and economic development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Combining our social mission with effective corporate management.
• Creating an environment that empowers employees to take responsibility and allows individuals in need of support to live as self-determined as possible.
• Actively participating in the strategic and operational development of our integration business field.
• Engaging in networking and collaboration with authorities, cantons, associations, and professional organizations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A university degree in the social sector or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in disability services.
• A solid understanding of current trends in disability assistance, including financing and tariff structures.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and motivate employees towards common goals.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, business acumen, and a passion for innovative development and change.
