Logistics Specialist (Global Clinical Distribution)
Roche Switzerland bridges the gap between pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Important research and development functions are located here. For our long-term client, F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Kaiseraugst, we are looking for a Logistics Specialist (Global Clinical Distribution).
Background
The Clinical Distribution organization aims to cost-effectively ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time, so that no patient goes without treatment and no clinical trial is delayed. The Logistics Specialist is a key member of the Network & Capability chapter, responsible for all elements of clinical supply chain distribution for the global Roche/Genentech portfolio of over 500 studies. This chapter oversees the logistic framework and setup necessary for optimized and reliable clinical distribution, facilitating more than 100,000 shipments yearly across over 130 countries. The Logistics Specialist executes all shipments, ensuring they are processed without interruptions and comply with country-specific requirements.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Manage operational order and handling of clinical supply shipments, including Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) and drop shipments where applicable.
- Oversee all relevant documents and licenses, ensuring compliance with country-specific requirements.
- Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery, proactively addressing potential challenges and interruptions.
- Act as the main contact for stakeholders and partners on all shipping and logistics-related inquiries and activities.
- Collaborate closely with various site logistics teams, including warehouse operations (KAU and SSF), transportation, and customs management.
- Participate in projects and initiatives after gaining relevant experience in the role.
Must Haves
- Completed degree or vocational training in a relevant field.
- Mandatory background in Clinical Supply Chain, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is strictly required; GMP experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP, is desirable; experience with alternative domain-specific ERP/Logistics tools is also accepted.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is mandatory.
- Business-fluent in German and English, proficient in industry-specific vocabulary.
Nice to Have
- Strong sense of urgency, proactive mindset, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- High affinity for IT systems and ERP, with hands-on experience in SAP considered a strong plus.
