As a Lead Business Analyst, you will spearhead hands-on business analysis while developing and enhancing practices that empower BA teams to deliver with greater clarity, consistency, and impact.
About the Role
This position encompasses two primary responsibilities: overseeing business analysis across complex systems and projects and enhancing the operational efficiency of the BA team through improved roles, processes, standards, and ways of working. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a more structured and consistent BA practice while remaining actively engaged in project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities for complex projects and systems, guiding requirements clarification through to actionable specifications for delivery teams.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to comprehend needs, clarify requirements, and convert them into clear specifications.
- Evaluate existing BA practices to identify areas for enhancement in roles, processes, and coordination.
- Introduce practical standards for requirements and specifications to elevate consistency and quality within the team.
- Establish clearer workflows within the BA function and advocate for their adoption across projects.
- Support and mentor Business Analysts, providing guidance and facilitating the adoption of consistent practices.
- Build alignment and secure support from business and IT stakeholders when implementing changes to established workflows.
- Stay directly involved in project delivery while reinforcing the overall BA function.
Experience
- Extensive experience in Business Analysis, including senior, lead, or comparable leadership roles.
- Proven track record of transforming or significantly enhancing a Business Analysis team or function.
- Demonstrated success in introducing new BA practices and fostering their adoption.
- Strong hands-on experience in delivering business analysis within complex projects and systems.
- Experience in developing or supporting other Business Analysts and enhancing team coordination.
- Robust stakeholder management experience across both business and IT environments.
- Adept at navigating resistance and fostering acceptance of change in established workflows.
- Strong written communication skills, with a focus on improving the quality of requirements and specifications.
Technical Fluency
- Strong understanding of Business Analysis practices, including requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and specification.
- Experience in translating complex business requirements into functional specifications for delivery teams.
- Confidence in navigating both business and IT landscapes to facilitate alignment between teams.
- Proficient in developing practical templates, standards, and processes to enhance analysis quality and delivery.
- Comfortable operating within complex systems and project environments.

Qualifications
- Proven history of transforming or significantly enhancing a Business Analysis team or function.
- Experience in the insurance sector, particularly life insurance, is an advantage but not required.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
