We are seeking a Junior Underwriter Financial Lines (m/f/d) to join our team in Wallisellen (Zurich) on a full-time basis.

The Impact You Will Have

As a member of our Financial Lines Underwriting team, you will play a key role in supporting and underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet regional targets, including global elements. Your responsibilities will include:

• Underwriting profitable business to achieve overall performance targets.
• Structuring customized solutions in line with the team’s underwriting guidelines and policies.
• Negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers for competitive and profitable outcomes.
• Ensuring contract certainty is achieved at inception for all accounts.
• Utilizing global pricing tools to maintain consistency and accuracy in underwriting.
• Proactively managing capacity to support business growth while mitigating risks.
• Ensuring underwriting compliance with governance frameworks, including authorities, guidelines, and rules.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders while acquiring new business.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Experience in Underwriting, Operations, or Claims is preferred.
• Basic understanding of the local insurance market and competitor landscape.
• Approachable with strong relationship-building skills inside the company and with brokers.
• Strong interpersonal skills paired with business acumen.
• Excellent analytical skills, capable of interpreting data from various sources.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to persuade others to act without direct authority.
• Proactive and positive attitude towards teamwork, able to assist others and take on your responsibilities.
• Understanding of the policy administration lifecycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation.
• Able to work within a complex, global matrix organization.
• Willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization.
• Fluent in German and English.
