We are seeking a Junior Underwriter Financial Lines to join our team in Wallisellen (Zurich) on a full-time basis.

The Impact You Will Have

As part of our Financial Lines Underwriting team, you will support and underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet targets regionally, including global elements. Your responsibilities will also include negotiating participation, pricing, and terms and conditions; supporting the acquisition of new business, and retaining existing business. You will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalized solutions while maintaining and developing new relationships.

Some of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include:

• You will underwrite profitable business to meet overall performance targets.
• You will structure customized solutions in line with the team's underwriting guidelines and policies for clients and brokers.
• You will negotiate participation, pricing, and terms with brokers to ensure competitive and profitable outcomes.
• You will ensure contract certainty is achieved at inception for all accounts.
• You will utilize global pricing tools to maintain consistency and accuracy in underwriting.
• You will proactively manage capacity to support business growth while mitigating risks.
• You will ensure underwriting compliance with governance frameworks, including authorities, guidelines, and rules.
• You will build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders while acquiring new business.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Ideally, experience in Underwriting, Operations, or Claims.
• Basic understanding of the local insurance market and competitor landscape.
• Approachable, with the ability to create and maintain relationships both within the company and with brokers.
• Strong interpersonal skills paired with business acumen.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to absorb information from various sources, analyze data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions.
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to persuade others to act without direct authority.
• A proactive and positive attitude toward teamwork, able to assist others and also take on your own responsibilities.
• Understanding of the policy administration life cycle: information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation.
• Ability to work in a complex, global matrix organization.
• A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
• Fluent German and English language skills.
