Job Opportunity: Inventory Coordinator

W Talent is exclusively representing a well-established FMCG manufacturer seeking to recruit an Inventory Coordinator on a fixed-term contract to join their Supply Chain team. This site-based role is located in Redditch and is offered on a contract until January 2028. The Inventory Coordinator will report to the Inventory Manager and play a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock records, managing inventory levels, and supporting the smooth flow of materials and goods across the site.

Job Description

The Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, monitoring inventory levels, and investigating discrepancies to ensure materials and products are available when required. The role requires close collaboration with the Warehouse, Purchasing, and Production teams to support stock control processes, manage inbound and outbound movements, and assist with inventory reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet operational and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP and inventory management systems.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory checks.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Work closely with Warehouse, Purchasing, and Production teams to reconcile stock movements.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate goods receipt and dispatch documentation.
• Monitor stock movements and ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
• Produce inventory reports for management, including stock aging, inventory valuation, and usage analysis.
• Support inventory audits by preparing relevant documentation and reports.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of inventory control procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy and reduce discrepancies.
• Support initiatives to minimize stock losses and enhance inventory efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to optimize warehouse and stock space utilization.
• Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to maintain effective inventory control processes.
• Ensure adherence to company Health & Safety procedures.
• Report any stock, system, or process issues to the Inventory Manager.

Key Requirements

• Experience in an inventory, stock control, or supply chain environment.
• Proficient in using ERP or inventory management systems.
• Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
• Experience conducting stock checks, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, collaborating effectively across Warehouse, Purchasing, and Production teams.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable working in a site-based manufacturing setting.

Advantageous Requirements

• Experience within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of stock aging, inventory valuation, and usage analysis.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Involvement in inventory improvement or stock accuracy projects.
• Familiarity with ERP systems in manufacturing or supply chain contexts.

Details & Benefits

• Salary: £33,000 per annum.
• Fixed-term contract until January 2028.
