Global Business & Operations (GBO)

Global Business & Operations (GBO) is the dedicated unit within Zurich responsible for global Travel and Cyber business, in addition to the Global Operations framework. This encompasses Group Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Corporate Center Facilities Management, and Zurich Capability Centers (ZCC)/global shared services centers. Our mission within Global Operations is twofold: to reduce expenses while standardizing and enhancing the quality of services, thereby increasing our efficiency and leveraging the benefits of shared services.

Position Overview

Reporting to the CEO of GBO, the newly established Head of ZCC role is pivotal in driving the transformation and management of Zurich's global shared services centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overarching strategy for ZCCs, enhancing enterprise adoption, standardization, location optimization, scalability, and cross-center governance.
  • Oversee operational performance and change management of ZCC operations across multiple countries, providing leadership to ZCC Heads and their extended teams (IT, Finance, HR, Strategy, Assurance).
  • Lead transformational change by architecting a future-fit shared services model strategy, taking into account additional front/middle/back-office process migrations alongside the implications of AI.
  • Build robust relationships with business leaders, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advocate for enterprise expansion and the optimal placement of services through the strategic enhancement of ZCC offerings to additional Zurich’s country Business Units.
  • Encourage collaboration and resilience between centers, breaking down silos and facilitating capability redundancy.
  • Ensure adherence to consistent regulatory and compliance standards across all centers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven senior leadership experience in transformational global shared services, including strategy, design, setup, and governance of intricate multi-tower operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive enterprise change, build scalable service models, and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experience managing large teams across diverse geographical regions.
  • Strong understanding of property and facility management, including technical operations, supplier management, and workplace transformation.
  • Familiarity with compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management within a global shared service framework.
  • Skilled in developing and executing change narratives, advocating for strategic expansion, and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A future-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation, particularly in AI and automation.
  • Solid financial planning and budgeting skills to effectively manage operational costs and budgets.
