Join a prestigious Indian restaurant chain as we launch our first location in Switzerland. We are seeking a dedicated Executive Sous Chef / Chef De Cuisine to lead our kitchen teams while delivering exceptional Indian cuisine tailored to our customers' specifications.
Job Description
In this role, you will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and production of our restaurant kitchen. You will exhibit culinary talents by performing hands-on tasks while leading staff and managing all food-related functions.
- Coordinate menus focusing on vegetarian cuisine, including purchasing, staffing, and food preparation.
- Work with the team to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety standards.
- Develop and train the team to improve operational results.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; 10+ years of experience in Indian culinary, food and beverage, or a related professional area.
- Preferred: 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Experience with South Indian cuisine is essential.
Core Work Activities
- Ensure culinary standards and responsibilities are met for the restaurant.
- Supervise kitchen shift operations while ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper food preparation handling and storage standards.
- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavors.
- Plan and manage food quantities and plating requirements.
- Communicate production needs to key personnel.
- Assist in developing daily and seasonal menu items.
- Prepare and cook Indian foods with a focus on Chat cuisine, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Present food attractively, creating decorative displays.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations efficiently.
- Understand employee positions well enough to perform necessary duties during absences.
