The Position

We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Grade 6 teacher who can engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Upper Primary/Lower Secondary education, with a specialization in English and Humanities/Social Studies. The successful candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic about collaborating with a team of dynamic, professional educators to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school environment. A teacher at ZIS will maintain high expectations for all students, embody a mentor mindset, and demonstrate comfort in differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of teaching experience with this age group, preferably in an international school setting.
  • Extensive international experience required for non-Swiss/EU applicants.
  • Learner-centered focus with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
  • Teaching license with specialization; Master's level study preferred.
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Commitment to collaborative planning and teaching.
  • Integration of technology into the curriculum.
  • Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
  • Inquiry-based pedagogical approach.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues.
