Electronics Engineer (f/m/d)

Venture Unit Soft Sensing & Actuation

At Datwyler's Venture Unit Soft Sensing & Actuation, as an Electronics Engineer, you will support the productization of groundbreaking sensing and actuation technologies through a combination of internal and external electronic firmware development. You will work at the intersection of hardware, software, and materials to transform early-stage prototypes into scalable, reliable, and manufacturable products. This hands-on, cross-disciplinary role blends creativity, technical depth, and project management, making it ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced, exploratory environments.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute electronic and firmware development projects for soft sensing and actuation technologies, from prototype to production.
  • Design and validate electronic architectures for innovative technologies.
  • Develop and test embedded firmware for control, signal processing, and communication.
  • Perform make-or-buy analyses and manage both internal and external development activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and integration.
  • Document and define technical requirements and track project milestones through verification and validation.
  • Adapt generic electronic platforms to meet specific customer applications and integration requirements.
  • Assemble, test, debug prototypes, and develop supporting documentation.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electronic or embedded systems development.
  • Experience with high-voltage systems and safe laboratory practices.
  • Strong skills in C programming for embedded applications.
  • Experience in firmware testing, debugging, and validation.
  • Familiarity with hardware design, simulation, and PCB layout.
  • Hands-on mindset - comfortable with soldering, testing, and circuit troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers and coordinate with external engineering partners.
  • Strong understanding of project management methods, both waterfall and agile.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (minimum C1); German is a plus.
  • Autonomous, trustworthy, results-oriented, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
