Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as part of a responsive team to define and implement IC design tools, flows, and methodologies.
- Lead and support tool evaluation, selection, consensus-building, deployment, and flow development.
- Deliver training to engineering design teams.
- Collaborate with EDA/CAD vendors to resolve tool issues and assist design teams in finding timely, practical solutions.
- Contribute to company-wide alignment on design tools, flows, and methodologies.
Skills
- Excellent programming skills: Shell, Python, Perl, Tcl, SKILL; GUI development; Make.
- Deep understanding of the chip design process and digital, analog, and mixed-signal IC design flows.
- Proficiency in building robust EDA/CAD flows while balancing stakeholder needs.
- (Preferred) Some RTL coding experience; basic knowledge of SystemVerilog and VHDL.
- Ability to quickly learn, maintain, and enhance complex software design tools.
- Strong collaboration skills across EDA/CAD and engineering teams.
- Skilled in debugging issues, documenting solutions/flows, and creating clear user guides.
Experience
- Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 7+ years of experience across front-end and back-end digital design flows (e.g., netlist generation, simulation, synthesis, place & route, parasitic extraction, STA, EM/IR analysis, physical verification, DFT, ATPG).
- Experience with Cadence Voltus (or similar) and on-die power integrity (IR-drop, electromigration).
- Hands-on use of industry-standard EDA tools, methodologies, licensing, and release processes.
- Proven track record in developing code to create/improve automation tools for design engineers.
- Working knowledge of software development methods, system architecture, and operating systems.
- Strong data management experience (e.g., Git, Cliosoft) for multi-project/multi-discipline flows and database tagging.
- Experience in implementing and adhering to processes required for quality certification.
