Join Spur Insights as a Data Scientist
Spur Insights, located in Zurich, Switzerland, specializes in developing cutting-edge Data Science, machine learning, and AI solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of industrial processes and machinery. Our innovative solutions are utilized by clients in over 100 countries, covering manufacturing processes and lines in industries such as plastics, electronics, and converting.
From our office near Stauffacher Square in Zurich, the Spur Insights Data Science team collaborates closely with diverse industrial clients worldwide. You will be part of our international team of Data Scientists, tasked with developing and implementing algorithms for machine data.
Your Role
You will concentrate on designing, building, and deploying Large Language Model (LLM)–based solutions that connect machine data, operator knowledge, and industrial processes.
Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Developing Agentic-LLM solutions to capture, structure, and reason over machine documentation, operator input, and historical service data.
- Building AI-driven self-diagnostic and advisory systems to identify wear and tear, potential mechanical issues, and incorrect machine settings.
- Designing natural language interfaces and reasoning layers that assist machine operators in troubleshooting, quality control, and energy efficiency decisions.
- Fine-tuning, evaluating, and integrating LLMs for industrial applications, focusing on accuracy, robustness, and explainability.
- Working in close collaboration with clients to comprehend machine behavior, data availability, and operational constraints, translating these into scalable AI solutions.
You will engage hands-on across the full lifecycle, from data exploration and model development to deployment and iteration in real industrial environments.
What We Are Looking For:
- A strong foundation in Data Science with a clear focus on generative AI and LLM-based systems.
- Experience with Data Science-centric languages and environments such as Python, Jupyter, TensorFlow, or MATLAB.
- Familiarity with generative AI and LLM technology.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- An interest in or exposure to industrial data, machine engineering, or complex physical systems.
