Commercial Excellence Lead - Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA)

Within the Commercial Operations & Strategy Organization, the Commercial Excellence Lead will play a pivotal role in elevating commercial excellence across the EEMEA region. This position involves fostering alignment across various functions and divisions while overseeing commercial-capability readiness for our emerging launch pipeline.

Building strong, trusted partnerships with cluster commercial operations teams is essential for success in this role. Key stakeholders will include the EEMEA Leadership Team (LT), HHI Commercial Operations, regional Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs), Regional Commercial Leads (RCLs), and market Commercial Operations Directors (CODs).

This is a Band 400 individual-contributor role, primarily based in Switzerland. Consideration may be given to secondary locations within the Europe or Middle East time zones upon discussion with the hiring manager. The role will involve approximately 25% travel within the EEMEA region.

Responsibilities

Commercial Capabilities

Drive the evolution of customer engagement in collaboration with Digital Engagement teams, ensuring that commercial capabilities, segmentation, omnichannel execution, and customer insights translate into enhanced customer experiences and positive business outcomes. Relevant focus areas include:

  • Sales Force Effectiveness: Implement proper Sales Incentive Plans, target setting, CRM operations, and Sales Force of the Future deployment in select markets. Focus on segmentation, targeting, and Multichannel Cycle Plans (MCCPs) to improve sales force effectiveness.
  • Key Account Management: Oversee the rollout of Key Account Management and Top Customer programs in the region, enhancing access at the account level in collaboration with Market Access and Franchises.
  • Commercial Trade Channels: Align with HHI on new capability rollouts and assist markets in identifying Commercial Trade Channel (CTC) opportunities.

Operational Governance & Execution

Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of EEMEA Commercial Operations & Strategy (CO&S) vision and business strategies. Proactively identify and execute strategic projects and programs in a timely and efficient manner. Key focus areas include:

  • CO&S Governance: Manage governance activities for the CO&S department, including setting agendas for meetings and periodic calls with market leads and other stakeholders.
  • Business Impact Measurement: Establish frameworks to measure the impact of commercial capability investments, ensuring visibility into adoption, effectiveness, customer outcomes, and realized business value.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for simplification and harmonization across the region. Support markets in Objective & Key Result (OKR) transformation projects and integrate industry best practices.
  • Marketing Capabilities: Collaborate with regional Learning & Development, CMOs, and RCLs to build and scale marketing capabilities.
  • Regional Projects: Ensure the successful execution of projects associated with regional initiatives and priorities.

Launch Excellence

Lead commercial-capability readiness for seamless launch execution across markets. Key focus areas include:

  • Launch Capability Readiness: Work with RCLs and market teams to ensure comprehensive Go to Market (G2M) planning, segmentation, targeting, field-force sizing, training, and forecasting support are in place ahead of launches.
  • Launch Framework & Tracking: Develop a repeatable EEMEA launch-excellence framework and toolkit, providing leadership with visibility into timelines, milestones, and potential risks.

AI-Enabled Commercial Excellence

Champion the responsible adoption of GenAI across commercial workflows, enabling teams to work more efficiently while maintaining compliance and quality. Explore opportunities to integrate AI into sales, marketing, and field-force operations in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Talent Development

Foster and support talent and capability development within commercial operations across the region.

We are looking for a commercially minded leader with over 10 years of experience across sales, marketing, commercial operations, and launch readiness. The ideal candidate has successfully implemented commercial excellence capabilities in complex, multinational environments and possesses a unique blend of strategic thinking and execution discipline. With a proven track record of influencing without authority, leading change, and converting data and technology into measurable business results, you will be well-suited for this role.
