Your Crew
You will join the Commercial team within Beyond Gravity's Satellite Business Unit, working closely with Sales Managers, Proposal Managers, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Program Management teams across multiple international locations. As a key contributor to our business growth, you will help coordinate strategic proposals for institutional and commercial space customers, ensuring high-quality submissions while enabling our Sales Managers to focus on customer engagement, capture activities, and business development.
Your Mission
Proposal Ownership & Execution
- Own end-to-end proposal management for all assigned bids: planning, scheduling, compliance checking, section coordination, review management, and physical submission.
- Develop and maintain a bid schedule for each pursuit, identifying dependencies, review gates, and submission deadlines; track progress daily during active bid periods.
- Produce and maintain a compliance matrix for each RFP/ITT, ensuring all mandatory requirements are addressed in the correct volumes and formats.
- Coordinate inputs from Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Program Management; chase outstanding contributions and escalate blockers early.
- Integrate all proposal volumes (technical, management, past performance, cost) into a coherent, internally consistent document set.
- Conduct internal compliance reviews and coordinate the resolution of identified issues before submission.
- Own physical delivery of the proposal, electronic submission, Sharepoint upload, hard copy where required, and maintain evidence of submission.
Proposal Governance & Reviews
- Coordinate proposal review activities across all active pursuits, ensuring timely participation from relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all commercial, financial, and technical reviews are completed and formally approved prior to proposal submission.
- Escalate any risks to schedule, compliance, or approval readiness to the Director of Sales as soon as they are identified.
- Maintain proposal decision logs and approval records, providing a clear and auditable trail for each pursuit.
Win/Loss Intelligence & Institutional Memory
- Schedule and coordinate post-submission debriefs with customers (win or loss) within 30 days of award notification.
- Document lessons learned from each bid cycle and maintain a library of reusable proposal content (past performance write-ups, capability statements, standard sections).
- Track bid activity, win rates, and lessons learned by customer segment, bid type, and product area; provide regular reporting to the Director of Sales.
- Maintain a bid library of approved pricing data, BOE templates, compliance checklists, and past performance examples, reducing rework across the team.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the primary interface between the sales team and supporting functions (Engineering, Finance, Program, and Procurement) during active bid periods.
- Brief Sales Managers on proposal status, risks, and open actions; escalate issues that require commercial or technical decisions.
- Support development and maintenance of bid templates, standard proposal formats, and company processes.
Your Profile
Essential
- Significant experience in bid management, proposal management, or capture management within the space, defence, or aerospace sector.
- Deep familiarity with government and institutional RFP/ITT structures (ESA ITT format experience strongly preferred) including compliance matrices, technical volumes, and cost volume requirements.
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills: proven ability to manage multiple concurrent bids under hard deadlines without quality compromise.
- Strong written communication skills: able to edit, restructure, and improve proposal content from diverse contributors.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, finance, legal) in a time-pressured environment.
- APMP Foundation certification (or equivalent) preferred; APMP Professional certification highly desirable.
- Fluent in English.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Beyond Gravity's product portfolio: SADMs, satellite solar panels, spacecraft mechanisms, and structures.
- Experience with major constellation programmes or large multi-unit satellite platform bids.
- Knowledge of cost volume requirements for ESA Fixed Price contracts and ECSS standards.
- Experience implementing or improving proposal governance, review, and bid management processes within a commercial organisation.
Behavioural Competencies
- Process-driven and systematic: brings order to complex, multi-threaded work and resists shortcuts that create downstream risk.
- Calm under pressure: maintains quality and composure during peak bid periods with multiple concurrent deadlines.
- Assertive without being adversarial: comfortable enforcing gate requirements and chasing late contributions from senior technical contributors.
- Detail-oriented: reads RFP instructions carefully and catches compliance gaps before evaluators do.
- Collaborative and enabling: sees the role as amplifying the effectiveness of the sales team, not competing with it.
- Continuous improvement mindset: uses lessons learned systematically to raise win rates over time.
