Your New Role

As Associate Vice President for Commercial Supply Chain in International Operations, you will:

  • Report to the Senior Vice President of Finance for International Operations and be a key member of the Finance International Operations leadership team. You will also maintain a dotted line responsibility to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for Novo Nordisk.
  • Ensure reliable supply to over 37 million patients, with a strategic ambition to create a more customer-focused supply chain that delivers a competitive advantage to Novo Nordisk.
  • Translate commercial strategies, budgets, and brand plans into forecasts and demand, driving the prediction of International Operations (IO) sales volume for upcoming periods, which will be the basis for Novo Nordisk’s Supply and Demand Balancing (S&OP).
  • Enhance understanding of customer needs across the value chain—from pipeline to patient—while building differentiated service offerings in close collaboration with Development and strategic functions in International Operations, Product Supply, R&D, and Product and Portfolio Strategy.
  • Oversee the Novo Nordisk Local Manufacturing Strategy, ensuring that International Operations effectively executes and delivers a return on investment.

Your Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need a relevant academic degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or Manufacturing.

Relevant experience includes:

  • 15 years of experience within Supply Chain Management, pharmaceutical production, and/or general business.
  • 5 years of experience as part of a senior management team.
  • At least 5 years of international experience, preferably in IO/Emerging Markets countries.
  • Strong people management experience, managing a direct team of 15 individuals alongside a functional organization of approximately 250 supply chain professionals.
  • Proven ability to deliver business objectives in alignment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in articulating complex issues effectively and persuasively to key decision-makers.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, utilize strategic thinking, and implement tactical plans. A profound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, GDP, and relevant laws and regulations impacting a multinational pharmaceutical company.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
