Your Role

This position holds a global scope, with production sites in Switzerland, China, Italy, and the US. Reporting to the Head of IS Production & Value Chain in Switzerland, you will collaborate with a skilled IT team to plan, design, implement, govern, and continuously enhance SAP Security and Authorization concepts, ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable access management across the enterprise.

As the IS Workstream Lead for SAP Security, Roles & Authorization within the S/4HANA transformation program Phoenix, you will take end-to-end ownership of SAP security design, governance, and delivery. Your role will require a strong combination of technical expertise, a governance mindset, and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships. You will serve as a trusted advisor on SAP security-related topics, helping to create sustainable solutions that balance business enablement, compliance, and risk control. This involves consulting, planning, and executing the transition from the current application landscape to future systems in alignment with transformation projects. Effective communication skills are essential to understand business requirements and translate them into secure and compliant SAP authorization solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • User Access Management: Administer and maintain SAP roles, profiles, and authorizations in ECC and S/4HANA environments, adhering to the principle of least privilege.
  • Security Compliance & GRC: Utilize SAP GRC Access Control to enforce Segregation of Duties (SoD) and other compliance requirements. Conduct regular access reviews and SoD risk assessments.
  • Solution Design: Embed security requirements into solution design during fit-to-standard workshops and design phases in Phoenix.
  • Monitoring & Support: Monitor SAP security events for unusual activity, investigate incidents, and collaborate with SAP Basis teams to resolve security issues.
  • Policy & Audits: Ensure adherence to internal security policies; prepare and maintain documentation for user access controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance SAP security and streamline access management processes.
  • License Management, Measurement & Optimization: Manage license allocations, ensure transparency on user consumption, and optimize user-related license contracts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business process owners and IT teams to implement secure solutions, providing training on SAP security procedures.

Your Background

  • Experience: 8-10 years in SAP Security administration or related roles, managing user roles and authorizations in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of SAP security concepts and role design, with knowledge of SAP Fiori security being a plus.
  • Tools: Familiarity with Xiting SAP security tools or willingness to learn.
  • SAP GRC Knowledge: Experience with SAP GRC Access Control, handling SoD conflicts, and understanding integration with identity providers.
  • Compliance & Controls: Knowledge of IT controls and compliance frameworks such as SOX; experience supporting audit processes is favorable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical abilities, and communication skills; proactive mindset for team collaboration.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English communication skills; good German skills are an important advantage.
