Role Overview
As part of our Food & Beverage team on our River vessels, the Chef de Rang provides friendly and professional service in the restaurant, bar, lounge, and sundeck, ensuring guest satisfaction in line with Viking Standards and Operating Procedures. The Chef de Rang reports directly to the Maître D’Hotel.
What You Will Do On Board
- Deliver welcoming and sales-oriented service in the restaurant, bar, lounge, and sundeck.
- Utilize the Wait Order System (WOS) accurately.
- Execute all food and beverage activities, including functions and special events.
- Maintain cleanliness of restaurant, bar, pantry, lounge, and sundeck according to HACCP standards.
- Participate in onboard training programs and daily menu presentations.
- Manage inventory and establish par levels, providing assistance to other departments as needed.

About You
- Minimum High School diploma; a hospitality-focused degree is advantageous.
- At least 2 years of experience in upscale cruise lines or hotel bar operations.
- Fluency in English with outstanding oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Well-groomed with impeccable hygiene standards; extensive standing and walking are required.
- Extensive knowledge of wines and bar operations preferred.
- Service-oriented with a positive personality and a professional appearance.
- Flexible, resilient under pressure, and a committed team player.
