This role is part of our Comparative Medicines group and represents a highly technical and specialized professional position. The successful candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplinary research programs by providing high-quality and consistent in-vivo scientific and technical support.

Internal Position Title: Research Scientist I/II

Position Location: Onsite, Basel, CH #LI-onsite

We currently have an exciting opportunity for in-vivo research associates to join us and significantly impact patients' lives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure state-of-the-art animal experimentation adhering to the highest ethical and technical standards, including animal handling (mouse, rat), substance application, clinical signs monitoring/scoring, blood/organ sampling, and the implementation of novel technologies.
  • Provide evaluation of data with minimal supervision.
  • Professional experience in pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and tolerability studies is advantageous.
  • Be prepared for weekend duties and early morning or late evening activities (e.g., dosing, bleeding).
  • Interact closely and independently with scientists.
  • Understand and update experimental protocols as necessary.
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development opportunities to enhance and expand skill sets, particularly with in-vivo techniques.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc degree in a scientific discipline, alongside completed education as an in-vivo laboratory technician (LTK 1 or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of experience performing in-vivo work with rodents in either academic or industry settings.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and proficiency with compound dose/volume administration calculations.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, with strong data documentation capabilities.
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, team-oriented, and detail-oriented.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French and/or German is desirable.
