Baxiva is a biotechnology startup dedicated to developing next-generation glycoconjugate vaccines aimed at preventing infections caused by Gram-negative bacterial pathogens. Your Role

As an in vivo associate at Baxiva, you will play a crucial role in our in vivo team. This hands-on position involves conducting mouse experiments in our animal facility to evaluate various elements of our vaccine. You will also be engaged in assay development, focusing on the immunological performance of vaccine components. This role will be primarily based at Hönggerberg within the Mucosal Immunology research group, collaborating closely with the vaccine development team in Schlieren.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing mouse experiments
  • Sample processing and assay development (ELISA, SBA, OPK, FACS)
  • Ensuring proper documentation of experiments following Swiss legal standards and OLAW compliance
  • Collaborating with the vaccine development and carrier protein teams on experimental design and timelines
  • Data analysis and reporting within our interdisciplinary startup team, closely working with our preclinical development head

Your Profile

We are looking for an individual who is curious, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality results while eager to grow with us. You should enjoy solving complex problems collaboratively to create a meaningful impact in the real world.

You bring:

  • A completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician, or an MSc in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, or a related field
  • Previous mouse work experience is essential, preferably with familiarity in injection techniques and disease models
  • A strong background in standard microbiology techniques and wet lab work, ideally in a BSL-2 laboratory
  • Experience in immunological assay development and execution, with a focus on ELISA and FACS
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong documentation practices
  • Exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in English
