Job Opportunity: Teacher of Visual Arts
The International Section is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Visual Arts for a start date in August 2026. This position offers a workload of 75 - 85% and encompasses teaching students in Grades 7 - 12, delivering a pre-IB Visual Arts programme in the lower grades and the IB Diploma Visual Arts curriculum in the upper school.
The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skill development.
Responsibilities
- Support students’ artistic, academic, and personal growth both within and beyond the classroom.
- Contribute to collaborative curriculum development.
- Participate actively in the school’s vibrant co-curricular and extracurricular life, including exhibitions, events, and interdisciplinary projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a closely related field.
- Teaching qualification recognised for secondary schools.
- Proven teaching experience in secondary Visual Arts, preferably including the IB Diploma Visual Arts programme.
- Strong commitment to student-centred, inquiry-based learning and the ability to inspire creativity and independent artistic practice.
- Confident, flexible, and collaborative professional who enjoys working with young people in an international school environment.
- Boarding duties or professional sports coaching may be considered to complete the position.
- EU/EFTA citizenship.
