Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Define and lead the global SPA and wellness strategy across contemporary, premium, and luxury brands, tailored to distinctive guest profiles and brand positioning.
  • Act as the business owner for Global SPA and Wellness, with explicit accountability for luxury wellness concepts and standards.
  • Oversee the end-to-end commercial roadmap, including treatment architecture, pricing strategy, promotions, capacity optimization, and guest journey design.
  • Lead strategic negotiations with SPA operators, wellness partners, medical aesthetics providers (where applicable), product brands, and equipment suppliers.
  • Drive growth in high-margin and premium wellness categories, such as signature treatments, medical aesthetics, fitness and longevity programs, wellness retail, and personalized well-being journeys.
  • Develop scalable yet brand-distinct SPA and wellness frameworks that allow for the selective deployment of premium and luxury concepts across MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.

Operational and Brand Excellence

  • Oversee SPA operations fleet-wide to ensure consistent service delivery, treatment quality, hygiene standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Define service standards, therapist certification requirements, training programs, and performance benchmarks across all SPA formats.
  • Ensure luxury wellness excellence for Explora Journeys, including service rituals, therapist conduct, holistic programming, privacy standards, and immersive wellness environments.
  • Introduce tier-specific wellness concepts, signature and luxury rituals, experiential programming, and destination-inspired treatments.
  • Prepare the fleet for new builds and dry docks, covering SPA layout design, equipment selection, CAPEX planning, and concept activation.

Financial Management

  • Own the complete P&L for SPA and Wellness across all Cruise Division brands, addressing annual budgets, revenue targets, margin improvements, and cost control.
  • Optimize therapist productivity, treatment mix, pricing discipline, retail attachment rates, staffing models, and concession economics.

  • Collaborate closely with Hotel Operations, Medical, Fitness, Retail, F&B, Shorex, Digital, Finance, and Newbuild teams to integrate wellness into the overall guest experience.
  • Work with CRM and Digital teams on pre-cruise wellness engagement, onboard booking optimization, and personalized wellness journeys.
  • Align SPA offerings with itineraries, destinations, and onboard programming to maximize relevance, differentiation, and revenue.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead a global HQ and fleet SPA and wellness organization, encompassing strategy, operations, training, and partner management teams.
  • Create a culture centered on guest-centric service excellence, luxury wellness stewardship, commercial discipline, and continuous innovation.
  • Mentor senior leaders and enhance capabilities across SPA operations, luxury wellness concept development, and data-driven performance management.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in SPA, wellness, hospitality, cruise, or multi-site service businesses.
  • Proven success in managing complex P&Ls and driving profitability in service-led environments.
  • Extensive expertise in SPA operations, wellness programming, service quality management, and luxury guest experience standards.
