Commercial Insurance IT Leadership Opportunity

Commercial Insurance IT is seeking a dynamic leader with exceptional communication and leadership skills to spearhead various projects and strategic initiatives within the Commercial Insurance Underwriting IT division. This pivotal role combines strategic thinking with transformational competencies to deliver key IT solutions and operational improvements within our organization.

The ideal candidate will exhibit self-starting abilities, independence, and a collaborative spirit. Strategic thinking in an IT context, along with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, are essential. Building robust business acumen will be vital to ensure that all efforts provide optimal business value.

What You Will Do

  • Lead assigned projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop innovative strategies and concepts to find creative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with CI IT Leadership team members in Zurich.
  • Establish strong relationships with local business and IT stakeholders, fostering productive collaborations.
  • Communicate results to senior stakeholders while seeking buy-in and approval.
  • Own deliverables to ensure completion on time and within budget, addressing or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Develop and implement operational excellence and project management methodologies and best practices, establishing KPIs to measure CI-IT performance.

What You Bring

  • University degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • A passion for technology and an understanding of its value to insurance companies.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a preference for commercial insurance experience.
  • Proven track record as Chief of Staff to C-suite executives, successfully translating strategy into delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior consulting experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations and delivery processes, including agile methods.
  • Knowledge of business-to-IT collaboration, including project management, portfolio management, and investment prioritization methodologies.
  • Growth and results-oriented team player with strong formal and informal leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Working proficiency in English; proficiency in German is an asset.
