Job Opening: Underwriter - Cyber Risks
We are seeking a skilled Underwriter specializing in Cyber Risks for our client, an esteemed international insurance group. This role entails working within the International Cyber team to underwrite a Cyber Risk account while providing expert advice on underwriting and market issues.

Key Responsibilities
Underwriting
- Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Cyber Risks business as a key member of the Cyber Risks team.
- Structure custom-tailored solutions that align with team underwriting parameters and policies, leveraging your knowledge to acquire new business and retain existing clients.
- Innovate and develop non-insurance service offerings to insured clients and other stakeholders.
- Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios for each contract, implementing corrective measures when necessary to ensure long-term profitability.
- Assess appropriate risk premiums based on risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure, and general administration expenses, utilizing applicable rating models.
- Oversee peer underwriters' daily activities to ensure profitable outcomes and efficient management of the Cyber Risks account.
- Supervise assistants to ensure adherence to underwriting philosophy and policy, maintaining consistency within the Cyber Risks team.
- Comply with underwriting control standards for business written through Lloyd's, international subsidiaries, or internal MGAs.
- Establish strong working relationships with claims managers in this class of business.
Client Management
- Advise, assist, and service clients on insurance and risk matters to ensure satisfaction.
- Build positive relationships with clients to align with both their and the company's needs.
- Maintain strong business relationships with brokers.
- Be aware of the entire product range and identify opportunities to introduce additional products to clients.
General Responsibilities
- Utilize networking opportunities within the business to develop standardized underwriting policies and best practices.
- Disseminate business and class knowledge within the International Cyber Risks teams.
- Collaborate with peers to maximize business opportunities and profitability, including sharing market insights, marketing sources, and cross-selling potential.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing across the Group to promote best practices and enhance business opportunities.
- Create presentations and marketing literature as needed.
- Produce business plans and research documents for the Cyber Risks account as required.
