Main Purpose of the Role

This role will be responsible for generating commission revenue for the Company. The individual must leverage all reasonable efforts to create liquidity by obtaining dealing prices and interests from clients for the desk. This line of business demands exceptional communication and networking skills, particularly with traders and decision-makers at local Turkish banks. Maintaining these critical relationships and fostering effective collaboration are essential for our operations' success. Additionally, the role will focus on creating new business while developing and enhancing existing client relationships. The candidate will operate at all times in accordance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements and be fully aware of and act in accordance with relevant desk procedures, compliance, and other policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broking the product in compliance with established market practice and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding and working within internal compliance and other policies, maintaining knowledge as these policies evolve.
  • Completing all assigned training and policy attestations promptly.
  • Calculating dealing prices per the Company’s pricing policy.
  • Recording all brokerage deals in accordance with the Company’s settlements and operations requirements.
  • Raising the profile of the desk.
  • Maintaining fitness and propriety to become and/or continue as an approved person under the FCA’s approved persons regime, if necessary.
  • Contributing to all team meetings as required by the desk head or other managers.
  • Being alert to conduct risk issues, especially regarding the potential harm to client interests, market integrity, and competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviours.

Key Contacts / Working Relationships

  • Liaising with clients, traders, and financial institutions in London, the rest of Europe, or globally as required.
  • Securing business through and improving relationships with existing contacts.
  • Developing relationships with new clients in the financial markets, thus expanding the Company’s client base.
  • Contributing to brokerage agreement negotiations as needed.
  • Entertaining and establishing personal contacts with existing and potential customers.

  • Generating at least the minimum amount of revenue as outlined in the individual employment contract.
  • Consistently attesting to and demonstrating a sound understanding of all regulatory requirements.
  • Actively contributing to the desk’s work, being a team player and ensuring the Company’s needs are prioritized in all activities undertaken on the desk.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Previous trading experience within a bank or other financial services corporation.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a major local bank in Turkey.
  • Experience executing transactions in REPO/Reverse REPO, FX Swap, FX Forward, Money Market, and OIS in Turkish Lira.

Systems Used

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Bloomberg terminal.
  • Familiarity with Reuters market data and relevant exchange platforms.
