Main Purpose of the Role

The primary objective of this role is to generate commission revenue for the Company. The successful candidate will utilize their skills to create liquidity by obtaining dealing prices and interests from clients for the desk. This line of business demands exceptional communication and networking skills, particularly with traders and decision-makers at local Turkish banks. Maintaining these critical relationships and fostering effective collaboration are essential for the success of our operations. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to generate new business and enhance existing client relationships. Compliance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to established desk procedures, policies, and guidelines, is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broking products in line with established market practices while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of, and working within, internal compliance policies and procedures, including specific desk protocols.
  • Completing all assigned training and policy attestations promptly.
  • Calculating dealing prices in accordance with the Company’s pricing policy.
  • Recording all brokerage transactions according to the Company’s settlements and operations requirements.
  • Raising the profile of the desk while maintaining fitness and propriety to be an approved person under the FCA’s regime, if required.
  • Participating actively in all team meetings as required by the desk head or other manager.
  • Remaining vigilant regarding Conduct Risk issues, specifically the risks associated with client interests, market integrity, and competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviours.

Key Contacts/Working Relationships

  • Liaising with clients, traders, and financial institutions across London, Europe, and globally as necessary.
  • Securing business through improved relationships with existing contacts.
  • Developing relationships with new clients in the financial markets to expand the Company’s client base.
  • Contributing to brokerage agreement negotiations as needed.
  • Engaging with existing and potential customers to foster meaningful connections.

  • Generating at least the minimum revenue set forth in the individual employment contract.
  • Demonstrating an ongoing, sound understanding of all regulatory requirements.
  • Actively contributing to the desk's operations, being a team player, and ensuring the Company’s needs are prioritized in all desk activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Previous trading experience within a bank or other financial services corporation.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a major local bank in Turkey.
  • Experience in conducting transactions in REPO/Reverse REPO, FX Swap, FX Forward, Money Market, and OIS in Turkish Lira.

Systems Used

  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Knowledge of Reuters market data.
  • Familiarity with relevant exchange platforms.
